Please be advised that an error was discovered in the recent Single Window (SW) Electronic Commercial Client Requirements Document (ECCRD) Addendum v1.6, which was communicated as part of Commercial Client Bulletin TCC26-0040.
In section 2.6.6, Data Element Rules & Conditions, and Appendix G18, the Active Ingredient Code values for treated seed products included a dash (e.g. PC-9999). These values exceeded the maximum 6 digit alpha/numeric format (an..6) for the coded characteristic field (SG117.IMD.7009).
The dash has been removed from the Active Ingredient Code values in the updated Addendum version 1.7 (attached). The updated copies can also be obtained by sending a request to the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) mailbox: TCCU-USTCC@cbsa-asfc.gc.ca. Please indicate in the subject line “ECCRD SW Addendum v1.7“.

UPDATE: CBSA IT is continuing to develop the Addendum v1.6 business rules in CBSA’s testing environments. Further information regarding when the certification lab will be ready for client testing will be provided in the fall of 2026. _____________________________________________________________________________________________
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) would like to advise Single Window (SW) stakeholders that Electronic Commercial Client Requirements Document (ECCRD) Addendum version 1.6 is now available. This addendum should be used in conjunction with SW ECCRD v5.0, which was last published in November 2022.
Addendum v1.6 rules will be supported on SW IID version code 5.01. CBSA is actively updating the Addendum v1.6 business rules in CBSA’s testing environments. An update to this commercial client bulletin will be distributed in the Spring of 2026 to advise: • When the changes are ready for client testing • When the changes will be implemented in production • Timelines for decommissioning IID version code 4.02
Reminder: The IID version code is supplied in the UNH segment of the message header. For example:
UNH+1234+GOVCBR:D:13A:UN:IID+4.02' <-- Current production version UNH+1234+GOVCBR:D:13A:UN:IID+5.01' <-- future IID version
Copies of the SWI ECCRD Addendum v1.6 can be obtained by sending a request to the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) mailbox: TCCU-USTCC@cbsa-asfc.gc.ca. Please indicate in the subject line “ECCRD SWI Addendum v1.6“.
Alternatively, clients can access ECCRD documents and ECCC’s Import Declaration form through the TCCU’s GCcollab page<https://account-compte.gccollab.ca/login-ouverturedesession/>.
